Google Confused with Google Place Pages

Google recently announced a significant thing in Google Maps called “Place pages”. Google Place pages will provide single page for each place in the world. This page will have the information including website info, directions, reviews, additional information, street view etc. And quite interestingly Google started pulling information from many sources and not just yelp thus making Google Maps as a serious competitor for the website Yelp.

Surprisingly Google started indexing the content availabale in Google Place Pages. However, there is no official announcement on that. But to increase the hype, Google has started deindexing the Google Place Pages which were already present in Google index. There is no official voice on this either. When Google indexing Google Place Pages, it even started ranking for the business names / brand names thus making the Google Places Pages as a real boon for small businesses.
