Live Search URL removal request update
Live Search Webmaster tool has been updating its features for quite some time. The recent update includes finding out crawl issues like File not Found, Malware infected URLs etc using the tool. The tool doesn’t feature an option for URL removal request so how do we do it?
Initially webmasters who request for URL removal in Live search where asked to post the URLs in the Live Search community forum threads directly. This method doesn’t seem to work and later webmasters where asked to email Bret Yount – Program Manager, Live Search Webmaster Tool with the list of URLs to be removed or use the support form.
When I inquired Bret on URL removal request procedure for Live Search, the reply that I received is a new email for removal request and there were some configuration issues in that which caused external emails to bounce, but they are fixed now.
For URL removal request in Live Search you can directly send a request to lswmc@microsoft.com. Currently the support form for URL removal request is undergoing some process flow changes. Make sure to send the email through which the website is authenticated in Live Webmaster.
